I have been sharing with you my love of The Chosen series. There are many scenes that I am continually touched. The characters bless me with their incredible talents that portray what could be happening in the days of Jesus and His disciples. And, on a particular day like today, a day to focus on mothers. It is genuinely rightful to give this day dedicated to our mothers. Shouldn't we be thankful For them? Mothers who brought us up to who, where, and how we are today. No matter how they brought us up, each mom in this world still deserves gratification and indulgence!

Although we know that there was no Mother's Day celebration in the Jesus days, it is believable to understand that He honored His mother. God called women to live Godly life. God called women to serve and keep Him. He called one woman to bear His Son so that heaven can be brought here on earth. He called women to be honored and respected. It is that with a woman, we all become!

Today, in my local church zoom Mother's Day service, our minister shared that we must honor our mothers. It is indeed one of God's commands to honor your father and your mother (Exodus 20:12). Thereby, parents are also called to live an honorable life.

When you look at the images shared here, you can see that I pulled out scenes from the end of the show's Season 2, Episode 3 photos (brightness adjusted to get better effect and more explicit images).

Here you see Jesus, who was exhausted after days of healing people. When he was ready to return for rest, His mother came to help him.

Mothers who honor God's calling upon their lives keep their every responsibility as a life-giver, nurse, cook, teacher, (and the list goes on) for their children. Mothers who comprehend God's voice take motherhood as an opportunity and blessing.

Although not written in the Bible, it is convincing that Mary was there to wash her Son's feet during those times and many critical seasons as a mother to Jesus. Mary recognized her blessing and opportunity to be there for Jesus. Imagine the details of life as the mother of the Savior! Mary was there even during her Son's execution on the cross. She was there to support, uplift, care, and serve her Son on every stage of Jesus' 33 years with her. Picture out the chores and routines she had to take day by day to be there for her Son.

Jesus, in this picture looking at His mother, recognized that an obedient woman of God loves him. And, He cared for His mother in return. John 19:26-27 is one of the Bible passages, which shows His love and care for His mom. In Jesus' most excruciating moments, He said this, "Woman, here is your son,' and to the disciple, 'Here is your mother.' From that time on, this disciple took her into his home." The disciple was Apostle John. This passage is one of the great moments I am looking to see in The Chosen. Jesus did not only mean for John to take her as Mom, but Jesus commanded John to honor Mary as his mother.

I had a wonderful time hearing God's word in church today, focusing on the said passage. The zoom experience encouraged me to write this post connected to what moved me recently in my favorite show. And, this is most fitted for today.

This image shows Mary washing her Son's feet before getting ready to rest. Isn't she worthy of love and honor? We know that Dallas Jenkins and his co-writers of the show created this scene for us to enjoy. I am convinced that Mary did this so.

How many of us can still remember the last time our mom bathed us? Can you remember the very presence and essence of your mom when she looked at your eyes with passion the last time she washed your feet? Mothers, how are we doing?
